The following email letter was sent to OxVox members on 2 May. The meeting referred to in the first sentence is the Committee meeting held on 17 April, minutes of which are on the Minutes page on this website.
Following the votes taken at the meeting, I very much appreciate the confidence of the committee in confirming me as Chairman for the coming year, and I would like to congratulate Ali Wolfe who agreed to step up and fill the vacant post of Vice Chairman. His help, hard work and good judgement has been invaluable in what has been a tricky year and I look forward to working with him in the year to come.
We also sadly say goodbye to Dave Thornton who leaves the committee for family reasons. While we all take what we do at OxVox very seriously, nothing comes before family. Dave has been energetic, vocal and incredibly hard working and has been particularly active in the project to get the sensory room up and running and the awarding of a blue plaque at the Britannia pub to commemorate the founding of Oxford Utd. We wish Dave all the best and am sure we stay in touch with him and will enjoy his return to vocal social media contributor!
We also welcome back Michael North and Matt Cavill who stood for re-election and return to the committee. Thank you both for giving up your hours again and I would also like to thank all of the committee for their hard work and support this year. Their work often goes unnoticed outside of the committee but is vital and very much appreciated from within. Special thanks go to Trevor Lambert who not only keeps our finances on an even keel but also does an incredible amount of work making sure OxVox runs smoothly on a day to day basis. Thank you all.
I would finally like to thank you the members for your continued support and input into what we do and ask that you continue to support OxVox and continue to pass your views and questions on to us. It has been fantastic getting out at home matches and speaking to members and supporters and answering your questions at the AGM. We represent our members and your views are vitally important.
Thank you again and as always
