Frequently Asked Questions

What is OxVox?

OxVox is the Oxford United Supporters Trust, set up by fans for fans, to provide an independent voice on matters affecting the club and its supporters. It is one of over 100 trusts set up under the umbrella of Supporters Direct. (link opens new window)

The trust is registered as an Industrial and Provident Society with the Financial Services Authority (FSA).  It has a written Constitution (set of rules) which can be viewed and downloaded here (note that this is a pdf file which will open in a separate window).

What is a Supporters Trust?

A Supporters Trust is made up of members, who are fans, who can raise issues and suggestions concerning the club and vote to decide the Trust's policy.

What does OxVox do?

That is up to the members of the Trust. The trust works within its aims as listed elsewhere on this site. Turning the aims into policy and getting things done is the job of the OxVox Board (the committee which runs the trust) working with the membership and consulting them via members meetings.

Why should I join?

By joining together we can pool our ideas, present them to the club, and challenge it to move forward. Every member is important, everyone's ideas are valuable and everyone's views will count. We need a large membership so that all points of view are represented and all skills and talents harnessed.

How much will it cost me?

For those aged 25-59 the Adult subscription rates are £10 for 1 year, £15 for 3 years or £50 for Life membership.

For those aged 18-25 (Young Person) or 60+ (Senior), it's £5 for 1 year, £7.50 for 3 years; Seniors can take Life membership for £25.

Under 18s can join as Junior members for a single payment of £1.

If there is already an Adult member in your household another adult can join at a lower rate.

Where will the money go?

You will be entitled to one share in OxVox (excluding Junior Members), giving you the right to attend meetings, speak, vote and stand for election to the committee which runs the Trust. You will receive a membership pack containing a badge, a membership card and a share certificate (membership certificate for Junior Members). Members get a periodic newsletter by email or post, free entry to members' meetings and the AGM, and discounts to any Trust-organised events, and there are some discounts with local organisations. Membership subscriptions will be used to cover the costs of running the Trust. Accounts are published annually.

How can I join?

You can join OxVox online or by post by filling in the form on the Join OxVox page and sending it with your subscription to the address given. Please make cheques payable to OxVox.
