OxVox - OUFC Meeting 18 October 2004

Minutes

Present: Nilu Kanani, Mick Brown (OUFC), Chris Davis, Trevor Lambert, Neil Carter, Ray Whittaker (OxVox)

Minutes of last meeting - 6 September 2004: Accepted.

Summer survey: TL reported on the survey results and passed two reports to the club (one Powerpoint slides, one Word document). He would pass electronic copies to the club. OxVox would release a report and would advise the club before doing so.

Supporters club: The East Stand was thought unsuitable by the club as it had no internal structure and the overall space was too large. Another possibility was suggested but would need exploring and careful costing.

Training ground: The club would need at least 3 full sized pitches prepared to a professional standard. This was very difficult to find in Oxford. Brasenose College was being used for the present.

Scouting: The club confirmed that a commercial scouting organisation was now being used; the same organisation also covered certain other clubs in the country including the higher divisions.

Templars Square: Plans for the stall on November 12th were in preparation.

AOB

Concourse prices: 500ml beer bottles were back but the price had risen contrary to what OxVox had been told; this was embarrassing as OxVox had passed on the news in good faith. The club reported that the general concourse prices rise had been implemented by the stadium company and the club had not been informed about the timing with the Kids for a Quid match. The Oxford Mail now felt wary about planned future promotions but will be continuing talks.

Disabled fans: The club agreed to place notices on the lifts to ask able-bodied fans to use the stairs.

Club sign: Illuminating the sign requires a timeswitch to be installed; the job is in hand.

Date of next meeting: November 29th at 4pm.
