Notes of OxVox committee meeting on Monday 10 December 2007

Present: Trevor Lambert, Neil Carter, Ray Whittaker, Bob Scholes, Jenny Cuff and Chris Davis.

Apologies for absence: Martin Brodetsky and Tim Rosser.

Matters arising:

78 adult members were due for renewal on 30 September 2007. 51 have now renewed, 1 has resigned due to ill- health, 3 have indicated they definitely do not wish to re-new, leaving 23. These have been contacted again on 5 December and invited to send their renewal fee or confirm their wish to leave the trust and their reasons for leaving.

The last members’ meeting on 17 November was considered a success as some new faces were evident. The next one will be on 5 January at 1.30pm (sec note: This will now be prior to the Altrincham fixture.)

Club relationship/meeting:

The absence of a meeting date is a concern and it is felt that the Club is dragging its feet. Whatever the reason for the delay (and it was noted that some negotiations about stadium purchase/usage or with the stadium owner may be the root cause) there was disappointment that contact with the Trust had not been maintained by the Chairman, despite the briefest of conversations with him on 24 November and 1 December plus an e-mail letter earlier today. Details of our concern will be published in this month’s newsletter.

Stadco review:

It was re-iterated that the stadium company is looking into the provision of plasma TV screens, widening the range of available drinks and considering alternative food menu. The next meeting with them remains 8 January.

Newsletter:

To be published on 20 December. The remaining articles to be submitted by 13 December.

Membership:

Since 30 September 13 new members have joined the trust. The net result, regarding all the outstanding renewals as lost members, is that the membership has fallen from the figure of 265 at 30 September 2007 to 251 as of today. It is anticipated that enrolment fees will remain the same.

AGM:

A slight amendment in that a likely date is now 8 March, prior to the BSP fixture against Burton. To be confirmed. (sec note: The AGM must be held prior to 31 March)
