Notes of OxVox meeting on Monday 12 March
2007
Apologies for absence: Received from Tim Rosser. The remaining 9 committee members
were present and at this point the dates of future meetings were agreed as follows:
Thursday 12 April, Monday 14 May, Monday 11 June, Monday 9 July.
Matters arising
A letter of thanks was sent to Stan Taylor following his singleton brainstorming
session to produce ideas for fundraising.
There had been practically nil response direct to the committee about the Newsletter.
One person commented to Phil about its detailed content and the effort which would
have been needed in its production.
Lack of action on the stadium maintainance front had caused an outstanding report
to be e-mailed to the Oxford Mail today to see if they would pursue completion
of work. Further reports of East Stand items were advised to the Club on 12 March.
A request would be made for a representative of the stadium company to attend
the next OxVox/Club meeting on 29 March.
Membership update
The number of members had increased to 230 with several enrolments taking place
on a match day thanks mainly to Bob's efforts. In order to further increase this
number in the short term, the match day desk will be moved to the East Stand,
possibly on 31 March and 9 April, and to the North Stand on 21 April.
Treasurer's update
£479 in the Youth Sponsorship account; £1000 in "share" account; £450 in a current
account; £3500 in a deposit account
A framed squad-autographed shirt price is still to be obtained.
£68 had so far been received for the sale of mugs. Les Taylor will be approached
as he is a link with the under 9s and to enable us to sell the product to the
youngsters and their families. The Club shop will be displaying /selling them.
On 31 March we will try to sell them to patrons of the executive boxes.
Junior membership pack
This will be for all junior members and they will receive a membership letter,
a badge, a photo of this season's squad and an invitation to name their favourite
player which will be followed by a signed photograph of that player with a personal
message attached. The aim will be to commence despatch of the pack by the second
week of April.
Fundraising
Agreed to pursue Christmas cards, a quiz night and the idea of members obtaining
members with incentives offered.
5th Anniversary event
Cost of a boat trip with food was considered uneconomic to pursue. Strong consideration
to be given to a restaurant meal for members only and inviting the 3 Club Directors
and their partners.
Any other business
No action required for Rosie's Testimonial match on 30 April 2007 as all executive
boxes had been sold. Attendees at the Club meeting on 29 March will be Trevor
Lambert, Ray Whittaker, Jenny Cuff, Phil Fugle and Chris Davis. An agenda is to
be formulated a week beforehand.
