Notes of OxVox Board meeting on Monday 11 December 2006

Present: Trevor Lambert, Neil Carter, Ray Whittaker, Tim Rosser and Chris Davis. Jenny Cuff and Bob Scholes were guests. Jenny and Bob had met some of the committee on previous occasions and they were invited as both had expressed an interest in assisting the running of the Trust. (A third invitee, Ashley Mason, could not attend but had volunteered to help by becoming the Trust's Newsletter editor.)

Apologies for absence: were received from Martin Brodetsky and Graham Hilsdon.

Matters arising:

The pre-match meeting at the Catherine Wheel on 25 November to discuss delays on the sale of the Stadium company was attended by just a handful of people. There was no call for a boycott of the previous owner's businesses nor for any organised protests until the New Year, and only after OxVox had written to him aiming to act as broker to the negotiations and allowed time for a reply. (sec. note: letter was sent on 9 December.)

The donations for the giant flag had been looked after by the Trust and will be paid to Phil Fugle on request. (He is organising delivery this coming weekend, a trial run of its use in the stadium next week and its safe-keeping by rota; none of which involves the Trust.

The Templars Square event was going ahead for 14 December. Chris was liaising with the Club about the stock and the advertising of forthcoming matches.

Fundraising for sponsorship: £454 achieved to date plus proceeds from www.buy.at/oxvox.com which are small at present but expected to increase.

Other ideas include a bucket collection at a home game, a penalty-type competition and a golden goal lottery.

AGM Thursday 11 January 2007: E-mails/letters to members had been sent including one to the Trust's patron, the Rt.Hon. Andrew Smith, M.P. Completed nomination forms had already been received to fill 5 of the 7 vacancies on the Board. An election will be managed at the AGM if there are 8 or more candidates. Martin, in his capacity as vice-chair, will be asked to oversee that part of the meeting if an election is required. There will be a pre-AGM meeting on Monday 8 January at 7.30pm, Quarry Gate.

Dates of future meetings: The following are Thursdays. 18 January 2007, 15 February 2007, 15 March 2007 All 7.30pm at the Quarry Gate.
