Frequently Asked Questions
OxVox
- what's that?
OxVox is the Oxford United Supporters Trust, set up by fans for fans, to provide
an independent voice on matters affecting the club and its supporters. It
is one of over 100 trusts set up under the umbrella of Supporters
Direct.
What
is a Supporters Trust?
A Supporters Trust is made up of members, who are fans, who can raise issues
and suggestions concerning the club and vote to decide the Trust's policy.
What
does OxVox do?
That is up to the members of the Trust. The trust works within its aims as
listed elsewhere on this site. Turning the aims into policy and getting things
done is the job of the OxVox Board (the committee which runs the trus) working
with the membership and consulting them via members meetings.
Why
should I join?
By joining together we can pool our ideas, present them to the club, and challenge
it to move forward. Every member is important, everyone's ideas are valuable
and everyone's views will count. We need a large membership so that all points
of view are represented and all skills and talents harnessed.
How
much will it cost me?
The basic subscription rates are £10 for Annual Adult Membership with a concessionary
rate of £5 for NUS members and over 60s, and £1 for Junior Membership
(under 16s). Life Membership is a one-off payment of £100 and provides lifetime
benefits equal to Full Membership. Three years' membership for the price of
two is also available. If there is already an adult member in your household
another adult can join for £5 per annum.
Where
will the money go?
You will be entitled to one share in OxVox (excluding Junior Members), giving
you the right to attend meetings, speak, vote and stand for election to the
committee which runs the Trust. You will receive a membership pack containing
a badge, a membership card and a share certificate (membership certificate
for Junior Members). Members get a periodic newsletter, free entry to members
meetings and the AGM, and discounts to any Trust-organised events, and there
are some discounts with local organisations. Membership subscriptions will
be used to cover the costs of running the Trust. Accounts are published annually.
