Youth Development at Oxford United Lottery - The YOU 500 Club
| What is the YOU 500 club? | A new lottery introduced as part of a co-ordinated scheme to enhance and develop the highly successful Youth Development programme at OUFC. |
| How will it help? |
Money raised via the lottery will be paid into the Youth Development Trust Fund, set up as part of the agreement by which the club receives funding for development from Sport England, the FA, the Premier League& the PFA. The fund is managed by a Board of Trustees independent to the club to ensure that all money within the Trust Fund is used to the benefit Youth Development at Oxford. At a time when youth development at many clubs is under threat, by bolstering the amount available within OUFC Trust fund, the stronger and more attractive the Youth Development Scheme at Oxford will be to both children and staff. Greater funding will enable more money to go into coaching and development, education and other aspects of bringing youngsters through the system from 9-19yrs and onwards into the senior squad. This can be in the form of dedicated staff, facilities and greater access to club resources. |
| Draw programme | Two draws will be held each month, normally on the pitch at half time during home league games. An additional draw will be held every second month, with a "Bumper" first prize. |
| Lottery Details | Up to 55% of ticket sales will be distributed as prizes, with the balance of the remaining proceeds, after expenses, being donated to the Youth Development Trust Fund directly and only in support of Youth Development at OUFC. |
| Tickets and Prizes | One ticket for each draw will cost £2 and there is no limit to the number of tickets any individual can hold for each draw or the overall number of tickets available. The prizes will vary according to the number of tickets sold, but it is estimated that the normal first prize could be £300 with the Bumper prize reaching up to £500. |
| Joining YOU 500 | Tickets will have to be purchased in advance of each draw, as no tickets will be on sale on the day. To join complete the application form and send it to – YOU 500 Club, c/o Les Taylor, Youth Development, Oxford United FC, Grenoble Road, Oxford, OX4 4XP. |
| What could be simpler? | The best way to pay is by a single annual cash or cheque payment (payable to "Oxford Utd Youth Dev") or better still by standing order merely through completing the mandate on the application form. Standing Order payments can be made on an annual, monthly or twice-monthly basis. All standing orders will be taken on the 1st (and 15th for twice-monthly) day of the month for inclusion in all draws for that month. Initial payments will be taken on the 1st day of the month following receipt and may be increased by £1 to ensure inclusion in the next Bumper draw. |
| Winners | Winners will be announced on the pitch as the draw is made, with names also featured in subsequent match day programmes and on the official club website. |
| Promoter and Administration | The scheme is run by Oxford United with support from the Youth Development Trust for OUFC and supporters. The YOU 500 lottery is regulated by the Lottery and Amusement Act 1976 and is registered with Oxford City Council. |
